Well...i have had this cpu for about 2 years now, (pic below gives details), and i would like to see if this computer is overclockable. Currently their is 1 fan running ( the power supply fan ), and other fans i can obtain if needed. I would like to know some information on how much i could possibly overclock this cpu(mhz).
I dont want to spend to much cash really...i would prefer none at this time but can you guys give me some advice? thanks a lot.

Some other stuff...

where would i start....im a newbie heh lol

Right click - show picture if it wont show...that usually works.

That's an OEM computer I'm assuming and they don't usually allow overclocking. It is an Asus motherboard, but I think it's one of their stripped down versions. First thing you need to do is to find out if there is adjustable FSB settings in the BIOS.

The account held me up and would not let me log in!!...

I obtained some more info for you.....

I also went through bios and could not find that setting....
i found out that my cpu stays are 0 C constantly which is pretty nice...i also found out that my bios is yeaaarrrrs old and would updating it give me the function of getting FSB settings in the BIOS. This computer was built years about 4 years ago and im pretty sure it was custom parts...i bought it 2 years ago for a hell of a deal..only 150$ flat display monitor included...

tell me if i need more info and if updating bios will make a change.

Cycle through the CPU clock speeds and see if there is an "user define" setting. FSB setting is sometimes also called "frequency" and might be grayed out until you change the CPU spped to user define. We need to find out more info about the motherboard. If you are able to overclock it... should be able to run 133 FSB (866 MHz). See if this is your mobo...

the 440 bx was a great chipset. If you have the ability to O/C it you could probably get 800-900MHZ from the 650 with decent cooling. I still have a 600 @ 800 crunching seti on a 440BX. Its been doing it for 3 yrs. w/o problems

You lucked out. That looks like a good overclockable motherboard. Got pretty good reviews too.

Asus provides a jumper which lets you chose between soft setup or the DIP switches. All CPU settings can be done in both modes, just the enhanced overclocking options (vcore alteration) can only be done within the BIOS. Here you can chose between the following FSB speeds: 66, 75, 83, 100, 103, 105, 110, 112, 115, 120, 124, 133, 140 and 150 MHz. Of course you may also increase the CPU voltage. Valid settings are 1.65, 1.7, 1.75, 1.8, 1.85, 1.9 and 1.95V. The BIOS is also able to detect a failed overclocking attempt and restores the clock speed defaults; pushing the reset button is enough.

My comp is being.......weird on this site and it WIll NOT let me log in..so yea im on my bros comp...

But enways yes about that motherboard on that site you showed me.... that is my EXACT mobo.
I also opened my case and looked to make sure....i guess i must of missed this earlier...but with the power supply fan their is also a heatsink ontop of my chip :) heh no wonder my temp is 0 C....

Now first thing is first..i will check for that setting in bios..but do you believe i should update my bios first?? Since that program is telling me that my bios is really old...

Secondly lets say i can overclock do you belive i could set it to 150...heat is not an issue I can add another fan or 2 to keep the heat down. You give me your suggestions.

I went through my bios and the "Cpu Clock Speed" is set at 650 mhz and is in "grey" : \ what can i do now?
