I am looking for long term cost and initial cost. doesnt have to be exact just ballpark figures. with the chiller I would get make the unit myself not buy one of the premade ones. what are your opinions?

TEC is cheaper- especially if you can get a good deal on a power supply on ebay and cheap TECs- you might be able to do it for as low as $40-50.

Water chilling, however, will yeild MUCH better performance. My setup (excluding water cooling setupcost) cost me a little over $100.

TEC will also cost more money in the long run. They are much less efficient and will draw considerably more current than a phase change powered water chiller.

A TEC will cost more long term, but short term its less and a little steathier.
