i have question i am trying to overclock a barton 2500+ of my feind hi have like an asus bord with volcano 11+
when i have set the vcore to 1.70v after stress test using prime 95 i
the cpu temp is 44c
and diode at 66c~67c ( using motherbord monitor)
when i try to push the voltage higher after 5 min of strees test 70c the cu diode temp and cpu at 49c
i turned off the computer to not domage the chip
what may be the probleme the diode are doing two high show it try another heitsink or what?

MBM show some screwy temps some times. I would trust whatever the BIOS says.

Hell Ive gotton 273c* and -540c* before.

If you gotta be sure but your hand on the heatsink. If ur skin dosnt peel off :D then its not 70c*!

If the "CPU Temp" is reading from the insocket sensor, and the diode is reading from a correctly calibrated on-die diode, I'd say you are a little warm. The highest my overclock has hit has been 52C on die (My pally did 32c on die full load at 1810MHz). I definately don't like my temps even tat high. 67C-70C ondie temp is probably causing a loss of stability. Better cooling is in order here.

Sentential: mother borad monitor read the same as in the bios for the diode temp .thanks
