View Full Version : How high a Vcore for a 2500+ can I go?
I'm currently kinda worried about having a 2.06 volt core for my barton (12x217). Motherboard Monitor says it's actually running at more like 2 volts, and it's sucking my power supply down to about 11.31 on my 12volt line. I'm wondering how high I can safely up my Vcore without my electrons going all crazy on me.
Getting ready to add a much better heatercore and pump to my WC'ing, which I'm hoping will help my overclocking a lot. My temps are still under 50c at full load.

I have my vcore set to 2V in the bios, but hardware monitor reports 1.9V. My 12v line on my power supply is also at 11.3V, but everything is stable so I'm not worried about the power supply. Your Vantec Sealth PSU should definitely be able to handle it.

im surprised that vantec is down to 11.3volts. i dont know if thats low or not but its no an 11.3volt line its a 12volt line:(
hard mod on an nf7-s 2.0 @2.5v before my water-cooling failed and its charred right *into* the cpu pcb (the springs for the block hold down popped off)
so as long as it stays under 55 degrees celcius, anything up to 2.3v should be good
I'm considering putting my WW on it's own line, with a big pump and iwaki pump. Hopefully that'll cool it down real nice and up my OC'ing ability.
