'Fraid that your Q is unanswerable. Someone may have a machine for sale, however you need to figure out what you want your PC to do for you. Chances are good that no two members of this Forum have identical boxes. If two people do have the same hardware, their machines still are not identical, because the software won't be the same.

I suggest sitting down with pencil and paper. Do you want a decent all-around box? A screamin'(not for $1000--yet $1000 has never before bought you so much in a PC!) gaming rig? A a machine that you can surf aka crawl the Web with and use MS Word on?

Once you have a clear picture of your requirements, it becomes possible to investigate hardware configurations. It's fun to build PC's. I'd love to build one every day. There is a catch: you must pay for the privilege of making your own box! It's about $100 cheaper to buy a ~$1000 PC from a local VAR(a PC store in your neighborhood). Whichever way you go, it's best to avoid OEM PC's, a la Compaq, H-P and Dell. Why? Because they sell proprietary PC's. These are a huge headache to upgrade, whereas the VAR's boxen are built from standard components. Standard = Easy to upgrade.

I would be willing to help you put some possible configurations down. Unlike the prior post, I believe you can always save money building your own, not to mention the fun/learning value. I built PCs for friends for free, even support them when Ihave the time. It's becomes an addiction, so beware if you decide to walk this long and dusty road!

feel free to email me and I'll get you heading in the right direction. First stop for pricing is www.pricewatch.com

beware, however, since some of the lowest pricing are refurbishes (they did a good job hiding that from me for a while), but you will be able to get a general pricing base to start with.
