I just got a Benq 4x DVD+RW. I am trying to burn a rather large Drive Image file to some DVDs. I have it split to fit on 6 DVDs. I have tried twice now. I make the Image, check it to make sure its valid ( I test it by actully restoring it ), then when I burn it disk, its corrupt. I can copy the files from the DVDs to HDD on my DVD-rom, but if I try to copy them to the HDD from my DVD+RW, it says "*** cylinder redunduncy check failed ***) and it cant copy them.

I started with some cheap ULTRA DVD+R 4X, and thought maybe that was the problem so I got some Memorex DVD+RW 4X and still no luck. Im using Nero to burn them. What is wrong here? Thanks

what software are you using to back up the image file? i would reccomend Norton Ghost 2003. 2003 supports dvd drives and burning large images to multiple dvds. same with cds as well. i have never had a problem/corrupt image burn since i started using ghost.

I am using Drive Image 2002. I split the files into 1120M files, then I can fit 4 on each disk perfectly. ( im trying them at 1115M now ). After a fresh install, and installing the latest Nero, it seems to be working. I havent tested them yet.

My Nero ( evaluation ), suddleny freaked out and expired. I had till the 29th. Any other ideas for software for burning to DVDs? I need to burn data files as well as movies. Thanks

PS. For the 4th time now, I am reinstalling XP. I think I had some problems with that install when this all started.

I tried some better quility DVD+RWs, it seems to burn those with no problems. I even tried burning the cheap +Rs with it set to 2.4x and still got the check error when I tried to copy the burnt DVD back to a HDD.

I am guessing it doesnt like these disks. Anyone able to point me to some other cheap +Rs that it might be able to burn? I was using the "ultra +Rs" from tiger.

Oops, you forgot to put the work Legal before serial. You prolly thought it was implied tho.
