Is this crazy site for real and has anyone heard of a higher clock speed?

Well, first of all they show a Pentium 3 clamped to the vessel holding the LN, and the Hoda shot does not look correct either. Basically it looks like a fake, but there are some more reliable claims of similar speeds in Japan.

It looks like the chip is on a life support system. Thanks for posting this link.

Hard to believe alot of things on the web. I would have to see this personally to believe

Looks kind of fake to me. The WCPUID picture shows Pentium IIII...last time I checked the correct Roman numeral for 4 is IV. Also, the platform is listed as Socket370...Pentium 4, as we all know does not use Socket370, that's a PIII motherboard. I think this is an obvious fake.

They probably used the windows timing trick on a PIII and then realized no one would believe that a PIII could hit 2.8 GHz even if it were cooled to absolute zero. So they decided to doctor it into a PIV result instead.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that sure looks like an AT motherboard (!!), and a pair of ISA slots on the end of it(!!)

Sorry, I don't think you will find a single P4 motherboard in an AT format, much less with Legacy ISA slots....

FAKE!

Wow, is that fake...... A PIIII ?? NOT! I will say this...they did a fairly decent job editing the photos and the screenshot.......

Not to mention the INCREDIBLY OBVIOUS fact, that WCPUID says it's a s370 mb, and the pics are a slot 1

DOH!!! Wow, what a fake....the closer I look, the worse it gets!!

Thats definitely an AT mb, too. If you look at the second pic down on the left, the AT power socket and AT keyboard socket are visible just to the right of the ATX power lead!

NOT !!

Gotta say that is one of the stranger tech sites around.

It's a farce, of course, because of all the explanations listed above, and because nobody cares if it requires that much effort.

That is an ATX/AT mobo..it can accept at or ATX powersupplys...but this points out that this is a very old mobo but u were right about the ISA slots..they should not be there...so that mobo is just an old slot 1

another thing ,I thought the pentium 4 's used RDRAM ,or can they use sdram,or does it depend on the motherboard , I dont fool with intel all that much unless I have too but still like to know the facts but I know enough to know that this is a fake,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,WILDONE ,
P.S I just think it looks like sdram but having never fooled with rdram I could'nt be for sure but it looks nothin like the pics I have seen,
