hi,
I have managed to overclock my cleron 633 to 951 on P2B using asus slot adapter with core voltage of 2.3V.
However, I am using some custom sensor to measure the temperature, it is the one you use in your car, which I installed on the heatsink and is giving me a tempereture of 30 C running idle on win2000.
My CPU started to boot at core voltage of 1.8V at rated speed but runs stable at 2.3V at 951MHz.
So, my question is, is this setting safe, and the temperature normal.

Thank You.

I think you should see your temperature in BIOS, because I might be wrong but I don't think that the chip temperature is the same as heatsink's. The temperature sensor is under the chip, and heatsink's temperature might be different from the temp. underneath the chip. So take a look in the BIOS... And tell us what kind of HSF you're using, people will tell you right away if its ok for 951MHz or not.

Is it a cbo or a Cco stepping chip? Either way your voltage is so dangerous!!!. And I think your temp reading is incorrect.

My CCO stepping 633@903(95x9.5) 1.80V
Room temp average 30C, idle temp is 38C, after a few hours of looping 3DMark2001, the temp goes up to 40C only. errr....that's abit strange...only a 2C increase? I'm not using any CPU cooling program.
CPUidle instantly gives me blue screen once I loaded it up... haven't tried Rain though...
Anyway my system seems pretty stable... no crash so far. :)
Oh..BTW my mobo is a SOYO 7VCA with the onboard sensor.

I installed Rain yesterday, and I think its a good program. After leaving my computer alone for 2 hours, to spectate a game in Unreal Tournament the CPU temperature was 37, and after I quit the game, the temp dropped to 32 in like no time, when it usually took like 5-7 min. (I was just surfing the net after the game). I don't know if this is good on overclocked chips, because I have Celeron 600@600 (for now). Also, before the average temp for the CPU was 30+, now its 29+.

Although I had the program for only 1 day, I am starting to like it. (get it at http://www.tweakfiles.com/ )

Mine 600 runs@953 at default 1,7v (cc0 stepping...) I think 2,3v is too much.... 2,0v should be a safer option on aircooling...

IŽd just try 2+ volts if watercooled/peltier...

2.3v? Man that chip will fry! The max voltage spec'd by Intel for those chips is 2.1v. IIMHO you are livin' dangerously and your chip is livin' or borrowed time.

I can't read the temperature from the Bios some how it does not show, thats why I plugged a sensor on the heatsink and can read the temperature regularly on the display.
I thought the max voltage is 2.5 V according to the intel manual.
