OK so Ive been F@H for about a week now on my comps at home.
i am the (hack) admin for the family business.
i want to get all the comps (15+) folding too. i also don't want anyone to see/know this. too many questions from too many people.
Ive tried hideit and EMIII and i cant figure either out. (i must be missing something) Ive read all the readme files and still have no friggen clue. (getting pised)
can someone hold my hand and walk me thru this?
what i would LOVE is to have a pen drive with everything all setup so all i need to do is "1 click" and be done.
please help me (us) get 25+GHz folding for team 32!
note to self: deep breaths

What OS are they using? If they are using NT,XP or 2000 you can use the "one click" install that will run folding as a service completely hidden on the PC.

ok DLed it, unziped it, edited it (joecamel), clicked it.
i see nothing (like it) but how can i KNOW its working? task manager/processes shows: FAH4Console.exe---628---00---0:00:00---1,972 K. but CPU Usage = 0% (performance) did i muck this up too?

Yeah, uninstall the old F@H so the system is clean and ready to give all the power the the new client you install. The one click is simple to install, just login as the admin and make sure that you have already setup the client.cfg to your user name. It will install to C:/Program Files/FAH/ but there is nothing in the add and remove programs and no icons at the bottom of the screen. It will be folding as long as the computer is on, it doesn't even have to be logged in as a user. Good luck!

Just edit the client.cfg file in the folding folder C:/Program Files/FAH I think.... And then restart the folding service- accessible in control panel > adminstrative tools >services > right-click folding@home service and choose restart.

hmmmm think this is a little too deep for MY computer skills. (ie. little to none) guess ill use my PR skills.
ill run it on a few and after a week of no problems, ill let them know whats going on.
guess 10GHz 24/5 will have to do for now...

What's the problem that's too deep? We'll try to help you out, which will also help you learn more about Win 2000. Folding has helped me increase my computer knowledge by a LOT with all the different installs and folding farms booting via LAN and so on.

true. let me put it this way. i got a P75 way back in 1995 and never really used a comp b4. ive learned thru trial and error this far. as of now i dont: reg edit or use admin tools. (trial and error dont work well in these places) then again 2 years ago i would not do 80% of what im doing now (building comps / OC / TEC etc) so....
anyway, i now have 12 GHz (11 comps) Folding at work with 7 GHz (8 comps) not till i can prove there will be no problems. plus my 2.4GHz (24/7) and 2.6 (8/7) at home.
thanks for the help so far!!
if they wern't comps that HAD to work, id be more willing to mess around with them. (looking around my room, i think i have a farm growing. i will be much more willing to "learn" on a "junk" pc.)
so untill then, THANK YOU! F@H joecamel team 32!

yes...well i think when (if i am right) wedo when he was makin this oneclick he forgot to fix that. it happens to me too....so all i did was make my own one click but that is a little hard for every one to do
i had to edit the cfg file too and it shold do that auto.
...maybe some one can send a pm to wedo or someone to get this fixed.....because i post i made a bit back didnt seam to make much change
