So I'm with 2.8C@3.23 ghz running a mem divider of 5:4 @ 230 fsb using generic ram with a vcore of 1.584 v in bios.

How much does the mem divider hurt performance? Take into account I'm using some 2X512MB sticks of Generic memory that's at 3-4-4-8 timings lol...it's cheap...money is tight :(

I tried ocing more to 235, but it fails prime 95 in like less than 2 hours...although games are rock solid, but at 230 mhz the PC is prime stable for 24 hours :) I blame the memory, since my cpu does idle at 25C and load at 36 C :)

anyone think I should beable to Oc more?

I don't beleive dividers hurt performance. I beleive it's an adjustmanet between cpu and ram.

From my understanding it seems that 1:1 and 5:4 are a popular choice. 1:1 being half and half and 5:4 more focused on the cpu.

Sure you can get pc4000's etc but take a look at the timing. Sure the memory is fast but not tight and it doesn't even compare to the hard to find bh5 or bh6 IC chip.

There is that OCZ Platinum Limited DDR 400 that is probably using bh6.

As the saying goes about pushing, push until it's unstable. At least you'll know it's time to adjust.
