Lost my HD

heres the deal: I have a PC with 2 HD's, one for windows and one for docs. Supposedly that way when windows takes dump I still have all my docs safe an sound, right?

Okey, well, I just reformated main drive and reinstalled windows and guess what? yup, Windows says second drive needs to be formated.

BUAAAAAAA!!!! !@#%#$%BILLGATES

OKey, Ive calmed down now. Anybody have any sugestions?

Is the 2nd drive another PHYSICAL drive or just a partition?


If it is another physical drive try doing a scandisk/checkdisk and seeing if that helps.

How does it show up in disk management?
What size is the drive?
Have you updated to the latest service pack?

Thank you for your reply. I have figured this out to the point were if I disconect my CD the HD show up AOK.

I will post another thread with this particular problem.
