Is there any advantage to 'Under-volting' a CPU when trying to o/c?

I know it can't hurt a CPU. I ask this because on some systems I see nice oc's with under stock volts running. Is this one of those things that can make these Northwoods straighten up an 240+ FSB's?

It won't increase the chip's stability by itself, because you decrease the difference between off (0) and on (vcore). The signal is never perfect and the smaller the difference between on and off, the easier it is for an imperfect signal to be interpreted wrongly (e.g. on = off), resulting in instability/errors.

However, it may well be that your chip doesn't mind (signals are good enough) at even overclocked speeds, up to a point. If that is the case, the undervolting carries the benefit of reducing the working temperature of the chip, resulting in less heat problems and/or less noise to deal with. :)
