System:
Abit BE6-II
Seagate Cheetah SCSI 18 Gig HD (10k rpm)
Toshiba SCSI 40x CD Drive
PIII 800 (100MHz FSB) o/c'ed to 906 (112 FSB x 8 )

My problem is that if I try and go any higher, I get and error asking about my floppy (which is disconnected) and my system won't boot. I feel that this must be due to the fact that I have SCSI components. Since I am a total n00b to overclocking, I was hoping someone might have a tip for me.

Does anyone know how to O/C with SCSI controllers? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

what you may try is oc'ing with nothing but a hard drive and vid card plugged in. run an OS from an IDE drive and no CD Rom's or sound cards, etc in the machine. See what you can get it to and run stable. Then add a component. Run it again.......test and benchmark.......then add a component.

repeat till you find a failure. You may try adding your SCSI card after a sucessful OC with just the vid and HD. If you fail immediately after, you can bet it's your SCSI card.

Once again I have to agree with shads, he hit it right on the head.

Strip down your system to only the basic needs (hd/vid card), and then see how she runs.. as your get to the speed where your problems set in observe how it is operating and then slowly start adding components till you reach your problem area.

This is an old tactic and has so far worked for everyone that I know of thats tryed it, its very good for isolating the problem or peice of hardware that is holding you back from a monster o/c.

If you need any more info e-mail me at Treker_@hotmail.com
Will be glad to help!
