I have a PIII 500 mhz, my paperwork says its on a Tabor III mobo, can't find anything on it? Been reading up on this site for a few days now and want to take steps toward overclocking my system. Bios has no utility for bumping my front side bus speed, or checking cpu temp, a utilily i downloaded said i have a "phoenix bios". Any idea's, you guys really seem to know it all.
Thnx Johny Bravo

Hmmm. Overclocking OEM Machines are inherintly dificult. Usually they build them to not overclock. If you have no options in the BIOS, then you should see if there is a chart on the motherboard that tells what jumpers or DIP switches to use. Keep looking for info on your mobo though, it can really help.

thanx yogurt, will check it out,but has anyone heard of a tabor 3 mobo?
I don't think it's worth your time -- you'll never get the bus speed past 75mhz. At that speed your peripherals will develop a nasty habit of locking up periodically. The 500 isn't a good overclocking chip (I've owned one myself). Save up for a new system instead...

Whoops, didn't see that PIII identifier -- my bad, was speaking purely about celeron 500 chips -- no experience with the 500 P3...
