...is the PIII 700, correct? I have a Tyan Trinity 371 mb(440BX chipset); any information on this motherboard with regard to overclocking pIII's would be helpful too. Thanks

Boxed retail cpu's seem to be better than oem.
Consider buying a pre-tested cpu maybe.

I dont know anything about that motherboard.
Maybe look in the cpu database from the home page.
Remember getting a 700 to close to a gig will require high quality ram and very good cooling.
With cpu prices the way they are might be the same cost to just buy a 1gig p3 133 as to spend the extra on cooling and ram to try to get a 700 to a gig.
Just my opinion.
