P4 2.4C + pc2700 will it work

Getting a P4 2.4C and dual channel board but cannot spring for the ram yet will pc2700 work with the P4 2.4C 800fsb

Yes, it will work. It just runs on a 5:4 divider straight off at stock fsb. Abit slow, but it will work.

that is, if you board supports the divider.

i put a system together last summer from parts i got on sale and refubrished stuff. 2.4C, mushkin 2700 basic green, and BE7-G. no dividers there. have to run it at 179MHz FSB 1:1. still, almost 2.1MHz on a board i got for $39 is pretty good.

so, 845 chipset won't be as good for you as 865 or 875, unless you are ok with underclocking it a bit.
