I have an intel PII 350, (100Mhz x 3.5) with a multiplier lock on it. I want to overclock this thing, as I know that I can get it up to 400, maybe 450. I don't want to change the fsb, I just want to change the multiplier to 4 or 4.5 (Through BIOS). unfortunately, it has a lock on it. I'm sure someone on here can help.

no, if it's locked you can rest assured there is not a way to unlock it. Read the thread http://forums.overclockers.ws/forums/UltraBoard.cgi?action=Read&BID=1&TID=9972&SID=23442 to see what I mean. The ONLY way you're going to get that puppy faster is via the fsb.

i had a p2 350 on a abit be6 i clocked that to 420mhz
you really cant do much else unless youve got pc133 ram and a cooler but im not sure if you can get coolers for those things any more.
420 is safe from my experience with the standard cooling and voltages etc

Yes, I got a cooler for it a few months ago. Some Heatsync with a couple of fans. works pretty well. I just wanted to know if there is any way to unlock the multiplier. I would need to get a new mobo to change fsb, and I'm not looking to make a big investment. It seems that unlocking the intel processors is still a bit of a mystery. oh whell

AS of right now it is fact that the Intel Multiplyer is locked. in the link above it was said that by de-soldering some resistors it MAY have been possible to unlock. i find this VERY hard to believe. Only option is through FSB sorry.
