Hi all, I'm new on this forum.
Just have a problem with my Celly 300A: some days ago I tried a PII300 on my board (BH6) just to see if the CPU was OK. After this I reinstalled my 300A but now my pc has a lot of problems. I used my Celly at 450 with no problems, original fan and voltage; now it crashes many times when running programs, so I had to put it back to original 66*4.5. I did everything right (no power when changing CPU, settings OK). I red something on this forum about problems on remove & reinstalling CPU (something about bad connections). I just wander if this is my problem and eventually how to solve it.
Have I damaged something or do I have just to try reinstalling my CPU until it ga fast as before?
Thanx,
Davide

More than likely all you need to do is re-seat your proc. Also, come to think of it maybe you ought to remove the HSF clean it up re-apply thermal compound. I almost forgot, WELCOME :)

Believe it or not. Anytime I'm in my case moving things around. If I move my cpu around to much (bump it alot or take it off the board) I will have to reapply the thermal compound.

bdf24 is right! I had the same problems after removing my PPGA Celeron 800 to test a SLot1 Celeron 400, the 800 was crashing and running hot as it turned out the thermal goop was everywhere around the CPU die, but almost none was left on it! After re-applying the stuff it even ran a few degrees cooler! I noticed that if you even bump against the HSF and it moves just 1mm or so while working inside your case, the thermal goop can get away from underneath the die and the heatsink. So check it!
