Hi. I'm trying to place the pageing file at the top of nortons defrag option. Trouble is I can't seem to find where windows xp home keeps it? Could someone direct me to where it is exactly?

C:\pagefile.sys by default.

But I think that you can't defrag the pagefile while Windows is running, which is why it is wiser to have it on a separate partition so it doesn't fragment in the first place.

so i can't change it's placement in norton? I ask since it has the option to place files at the edge of the hard disk.

I think that it will move it after awhile as it seems to move the most accessed files there incrementally so the more it is run the faster they move to the begining of the drive.I could be wrong but thats what it has done on my system.I have 500 mb on the c: drive of my raid0 array and 500 on the first partition of my storge drive,G: both of which have the pagefile first.
