AVIs dont work, MPG works in WMP9

I dont know what happened. i was out of my house, and when i came back, a few videos i was getting were complete. i tried to watch them (being AVIs) and WMP loads fine, but it doesnt actually play the movie, doesnt start the timer or anything, just sits there. i tried reinstalling my codec pack, as well as windows media player 9, but still nothing.

i downloaded BSplayer, and the same thing. AVIs are a no go, but MPGs work fine.....

i have also restared a few times... am i just missing something?

try divx. it might register as a dvi, but its really an encoded dvd.

If it is just happening with AVI's then it's either a DIVX codec DIVX.COM or someone has captured it using an older ATI avi codec. Good luck if it is the latter

both AVI and MPEG

it just didnt work when i came home, and i dont know why.....
