I've noticed, with several reformats, that when Windows XP is fresh, I will change tons of settings, add internet favorites, etc... then after my hours of work, I'll restart for some reason or another, and everything will be gone. Like I did nothing.
Now, over a month after my last reformat, my computer froze this morning. I restarted when I got home, and all of my internet favorites are as they were from over 3 weeks ago. My AIM profile, which I just changed last nite, was gone. FRICKIN MY DOCUMENTS AND MY MUSIC have NOTHING IN THEM... school reports, gigs of music... gone.
What is up with this? What has happened? Is there a way to recover this data?
