Which Copy of DVD X-Copy should I get? I want to make Backups of my DVD collection because I tend to scratch them a lot. Which version should I get: Express, Gold, or Platinum. Which one offers the best bang for the buck?? What are the differences?

Thanks

Easiest to use is Express. Trouble-free backups, but extra features are left out(subtitles, menus, other language options, etc), so you end up with 1 disk copies. With XCopy, you can copy the entire disk, but it quite often takes two DVDs to do so. (Gold is a combination of XCopy and XCopy Express, so probably just for the option of choosing, Gold is probably the way to go.

Thanks for the help. Comp USA has the Gold version on sale this week. Looks like I will be going there even though I said I never would. Or I will be trying CC for a price match.

Thanks again

Dont bother with it. Use DVDShrink, its free, and does (imo) a better job than dvd-xcopy does. Then just burn them with nero.

I second that, DVD Shrink is easy to use and free. It also doesn't put the warning onto the front of DVD's like DVD Express, gold, plat...etc.

Xpress is a simple two-step backup. Put in the DVD, it copies it, put in the blank and it writes the disk. Having used both, Xpress is definitely easier.

I know you didn't ask buuuuuut......I'm going to have to third that. I've used both and in my experience DVDShrink makes better copies it doesn't have the prescreen on every DVD. Don't think you can go wrong ;)

Will DVD Shrink work with Roxio EZ CD/DVD Creator 6?? I would rather not buy Nero if I do not have to.

Thanks

P.S. I have already used DVD Shrink to "rip" one of my DVD's and it works great. I just need to get it onto a DVD.
