Hey all! I just got my vapo classic unit in. Im using another PSU to power it seperatly using the paper clip method. Well I have tried 2 PSU's and none of them will boot the chill control. The one in the pic is a 300w w/14A 12v line. The other was a 250w with a 10a 12v. I have even tried it on my current system (sig) and no go. What i find really odd though is that i get a high pitched whining noise from the psu when plug it in. Im running 2 HD's on the 5v rail, I saw where people said that helped them. Im including pics so you might see what im doing wrong. Thanks alot guys!!!

the compressor itself should be on 110v, i assume you must know that. i havent gotten mine yet so i dont know exactly how it works but i understand how the compressor works, its either on or off. i do think that you may have to have something plugged in to the 5v rail on the psu when you power it using the 14 and 17th pins.

I think you need more amps.

Oh so when they say you should be something on a 5v rail they mean the 5v rail coming from the main ATX cable? No just like a 5v molex connection? I checked the amps on the vapo sight and they say 15A to be safe but max draw is 8-12. I have 14 on here. And i tried it on my Antec true 430 and i know that has enough to power it. I will try running a device off the 5v line though. Thanks alot!!!

let us know
i dont think the power supply is the problem. its hooked up wrong somewhere or the circuit board from the vapo isnt working right.

I think it is probably the actual chill control unit. I have tried it on a couple friends PSU's and no go. Guess all i can do is order the new 2.0 version. Thanks for the help. I'll post a new thread if it works out. If you notice anything wrong in the picture though be sure to let me know. Thanks guys!
