now, i have my PIII 800 EB, runing at 900, the max temp that it reached after an afternoon of burnin was 38ºC, so the temp is not the problem, i already tried it at 930, and with the burnin theres no problem about the temp, +- equal at 900, this all at 1.7v, but when i put it gamimg something go wrong, after 30 min +- the sound get crazy, but the pc does'nt stop i can keep gaming, but aftter a reboot the system the winregistry get crazy and i have o to install again the windows . my mobo is a asus cuv4x. my question is: what went wrong????
Issues such at the ones you are experiencing tend to happen when the FSB goes past 150 MHz. Here's a couple of problems you might be experiencing:
1. With the FSB at 155 MHz, the PCI is running at 155 MHz/4 = 38.7 MHz. This can cause problems with PCI cards, such as your sound card, and hard drives. So that could cause both you sound problem and the registry corruption.
2. If your SDRAM is running synchronoulsy with the FSB, it's at 155 MHz when you're running at 930 MHz. That can cause registry problems. Set it a Host Clk - PCI or whatever your slower asynchronous setting is labeled in the BIOS.
