would a 1.7ghz Pentium4 celeron (128 cash, 100fsb) be able to handle a 200fsb with high-end air cooling?
btw 200x17=3400

Oh, hell no. I had a 2.4 barely able to do 3.0. Also, I remember trying a 1.8 at 2.4 and it wouldn't even post.
You might be able to get away with a 133 FSB if you've got a good 1.7.

that is based on the willy core, so anything over 2Ghz is pushing that core hard.
the 2.0GHz + celeron however is bassed on the Northwood core and usally can do about 3Ghz...
But its still a P4 Celeron, and its MHz dont do much work at all.

It's Mhz do the same work as a 400FSB P4 but it's completely crippled by the small 128kB cache which on top of that is also been made slower compared to a P4. Maybe you should wait for the first Presscott Celerons with 256kB and 533FSB to arrive but that all depends on what your mobo can handle and if there's gonna be a BIOS-update for it.

Are 3Ghz Celerons good for folding though? And would it be as fast as a Northwood 2.0 Ghz?

Anything that benifits (largly) from Cache will be really bad on a Celeron...
Some programs dont rely heavily on cache, and in such cases Celerons, are very close to the Pentiums on witch they are based.
but these programs are far and few
