You cant get messages from microsoft right?

I had to install the patches from microsofts website for the blaster virus cuz I had got it and now I get messages occasionally. I got xp pro and I'm not on a network. I got this one today. Aren't all messages spyware/(annoying)ware? You can't get a message from microsoft right? How do you turn off messages?

it looks to me to be spam, at least that is the only thing I have seen using the messenger service. If it's bothering u, u can turn it off and if your not sure if you have the virus look for a free virus scan online.

Thanks alot. I stoped the messageing service. Spamming should be illegal.
