I have a new NF7s v2 motherboard and I have got two DIMM 512MB DDR 400Mhz Ram chips.

When starting the PC with i piece in the BIOS correctly reconignises it as 400Mhz.

When I place both bits in (in slots 1 and 3) the BIOS says its only 333Mhz. I can't see anywhere in the BIOS to set this.

Any ideas?

Thanks --James.

it's been so long since i've been in the bios that i can't remember where it is lol. But its there - on the same page as the cpu, ram and chipset voltage options.

You mean the option in the softmenu to change RAM FSB?

Change CPU/FSB divider to 3/3, 4/4, 5/5, or 6/6.
Then whatever FSB your mobo is at so will your memory.
Then there's the timings in the chipset options.

is there any difference between 3/3, 4/4, 5/5, or 6/6? i understand that each would produce a 1:1 ratio. are there any advantages of using 6/6 over 3/3 (or any others)?

james,
are you trying to run dual channel? if so, the nf7-s manual says to put the memory in slots 2&3 for dual channel ddr400.
