Hi, I have a P1 233 intel chip, in an ACER machine. I wanted to know how i can overclock this.

Usually by changing the jumpers. Typically they have a set of jumpers for the multiplier, and a set for the FSB. On a 233 both will have an affect, so you find the combination that will give the highest speed. Don't expect much though- That was the top of the core design for that series, so they were running pretty hard already.

good luck with that chip, do not expect anything over 250Mhz. I have never got one past 250... Nor did intel.....

i would try 83x3 if you can take a PCI speed that high (250)
or 75x3 (225) it may look like the CPU would be slower but the faster bus will infact make all the difference and you will be faster at a slower speed.....
other than that , just play with the multipliers

My friend overclocked it to 333Mhz(3.5x95) with a water cooler.
