Shutting down the farm

Well I hate to do it, but the electric bill is getting too high. I will be cutting down to only my main rig in my sig as the only cruncher. It sure was fun while it lasted, but I hit my goal of at least 100th place on the team. There goes my 50WU/Day.

If you shut down the farm you may not remain on the top 100 very long, the competition here is fierce. But if you must, you must, real life comes first.

Yeah, I need more efficient machines. I am using 12x Pentium Pro 180 @ 233 machines, that each put out about 1WU/day, as well as a few better machines. I need something like a few P4C's. I will keep a few of the faster machines running, so I will only loose about 20WU/day or so

^^ yeah one or 2 P4's any of them would make up for the 12 pentium pro's.

I might have to shut some other machines down, which will leave me with just a 2.4b @ 2.4, 2.4b @ 2.72, and a 2.6c @ 3.26 running. So I might get 25WU/day or so, which isn't too bad.

sorry to hear about that i would shut down them pentium pros anyway. In my book its just not worth it for 1WU a day

heck i wont even run my 600mhz duron at 900mhz coz it takes 8 hours for a WU lol :)

I wish I still had the pics of my Pentium Pro Rack, I made it out of Legos, it could hold 6 boards. It was pretty sweet. The other Pentium Pros were in their own towers. All of the others also have their own cases. I will see if I can find some pics.

Sweet, maybe the 12 x Pentium Pro 180 @ 233 took most of the power, why not strip down you strongest pcs, and try to share a power supply and keep on folding.

I thought about running one PS for 2 boards, but I didn't have the patients to solder new plugs on the PS's. Either way, I could get like 2 more P4C's and get as many or more WU/day than with the Pentium Pros. I just used them, cuz I got them free.

if and sale all the below 1ghz and then make a P4C it will be nice to your bills and put out as any WU's :)
