I want to overclock my P4 1.5

I would like advice on how far I can overclock my processor without making the system unstable or destroying the cpu.

Sys spec's:
DELL Dimension 8100
P4 1.5 Ghz,
512MB 800mhz rdram (2X256MB),
64MB Geeforce2 ULTRA Video Adapter.
Dell's standard motherboard,

Thanks.

As far as I know dell doesn't put any overclocking features in the motherboards it uses so I would think you would be stuck at the default speed unless you replace the board, I would also recomend avoiding the p4, at least until they bring the new one out (which won't run on current boards and the current p4 won't run on the new boards either) you could ask almost any member of this forum that knows what they are talking about and they will tel you the same thing, "the p4 sucks", if you must have one leave it til the new and improved one comes that that seems like it may put many of the things that are wrong with the current one right

I think he's already got one...

AFAIK there's no way to OC a Dell Mobo. The only way to tell if the OC is stable is to try it.

Luckilly Wimpdows is the both the enemy and friend of OC'ers. It's the enemy 'cos it's so unstable, but it's also a good thing, 'cos it'll fall over long before your Hardware does.
