do different errors, like the ones in the subject, mean different things went wrong??? like what causes a BSOD to occur, what causes your system to freeze, what causes your system to randomly reboot???

they all mean the same thing.......you're using a M$ product.

I can't say any one certain error will cause a specific result (ie reboot or BSOD) each time, so I'd say no. At least with a BSOD you'll get 'some' type of error message. Instead of a reboot while the expression of "cluelessness" resides on your face.

Well i get the blue screen of death when I push my memory too high also some registry errors, when my system locks up its usualy because my FSB is to high and I dont have enough CV to keep her happy also if your system resources are to low, when your system reboots could be a bad modem driver happened to me once on a compaq. good luck

could also be sunspots, time of day, ambient temperature, rain or shine, acts of god, nuclear explosions, toilet flushing(reminds me of something to post....), you name it, it could cause it.

My problem I think was heat. Got a new HSF and the BSOD and freezing was no more. Ive never had problems with constant re booting so can offer no opinion. But i lovered my sys temp about 8C and it made all the difference in the world.

yeah, that would do it, lowering temps always help(see cooling forum and alternative modding forum).

WB back to the forums Open, its been a while since we last saw you!

Open is about to finish his school year........he's been busy with studies and hasn't been around lately due to finals and finishing up projects. I've been trying to get him in game lately so I could whoop up on him a bit, but he hasn't the time! hehe

anyway....I think mike is asking if a bsod means a specific problem. Or a freeze does.....or a reboot.

That would be nice.....get a lockup and know you're modem's on the blink or a bsod and your memory is too high.....but I still say no. There's no specific error related to a specific outcome. High fsb could lock your computer.......bsod you.....or freeze you. (and a number of other things) Or any other problem for that matter.

I used to get constant reeboots when I had my Abit bh6 if the memory cas was set to 3 with the ram I was running! It was pretty weird. But when set to 2 it ran perfect!

BSODs are always caused by Wimpdows. Check out the error message to see what has gone wrong with what VXD, or whatever. There's a list of BSOD messages in the M$ knowledge-base.

Freezing, etc is probly hardware based problems... Try swapping out compos, until it stops, or until it restarts again.
