old hd

There's a old hd lying around from a few years back, would it be any use for now? It's a quantum 3.5 gig 5400 rpm. Are there conflicts when one 5400rpm and one 7200rpm are put in the same system?

no conflicts, but the performance of the 7200rpm might be decreased. You could make a borging rig and FOLD ;-)

I have 4 of those exact Quantum Drives Running in my Mailserver, I harvested them out of several older barely used Gateway 2000's I was upgrading for someone at my school. Dual 3.2 gig RAID 1 arrays, one for the OS....and one for the Mail Server and Webserver Software. They sound pretty cool when they all spin up/down at the same time :D None have failed yet either, and its been almost a year 24/7 for them in that configuration.
