Lookin for a new vid card...

I built my new system pretty recently based on the 3400+ . . . . Im still using my geforce4 mx I bought about 2+ years ago. Of course like everyone else im looking into getting a new vid card in prep. for the new gen games, hl2, doom3, unreal2004. I can afford like 400 max but of course if I can save some of that or ill get the same results with a card for a better price it would be great. The 9800pro seems to be the best canidate so far, but im not sure when the new cards are coming out so if anyone has any info on that please inform. So what would you recommend, stickin it out for the new cards to come out, grab a 9800 or similar when the price drops with the release (if it does drop), or any other advice. Thanks people. Peace.

The new cards are stated to come out in Late March. If you can afford the 400 dollar price tag and I do not think anyone here buys a 9800 pro for that price, usually 280-300, Wait 1 month and buy the BEST.

The next generaion is suppose to be sweet and will run all those games you want. Since those games are not even out, you could always wait and see what other people think when the games come out to decide. Heck Nvidia might be back on top by then who knows.
