Ok I was just wondering ..

Currently I have a 160gig drive I use for backups and images.. But I dont leave it hooked up because if for some reason I was to get a virus isnt it possible it will effect whatever drive thats hooked up to the computer..?

Would another option besides leaving it disconnected ..be to just disable that IDE channel its hooked up to in bios when im not using it ?

why dont you install a good antivirus software on your computer and a firewall? that should keep you pretty safe, you could just get an external hdd and use that.

I have never had a virus migrate to a secondary drive. This dont mean they cant attack that drive but it has never happened to me...

I personaly use a usb2.0 external drive bay with a hd mounted in it. I have seen stories of psu failures ect that have blown multiple components. If it's not connected it can't be hit. It can be dropped...

ya thats an idea.. I just leave it not hooked up anyways.. Id rather not take any chances since I keep all backed up stuff and images on it which I dont wana loose..
