I'm about to order my stuff this week for my upgrade, and it all comes down to RAM. After a couple days of research, I decided on Corsair PC3200. But what's the difference between PC3200 and PC3200C2PT ?

Both sticks have the same specs, timings, and price, so whats the difference?

Are they/do you think, one or the other is CH-5 and BH-5 chips?

I plan on buying an Abit IC7 with a 2.8C

There is no difference except heatspreader color.

Those sticks almost definitely use CH-5 chips. They used to contain BH-6, but Corsair switched to CH sometime at the end of last year, so you'd have to hope for an old stick in order to get some good BH.

I've heard that the i865/875 have issues running CH-5 with a divider, so you may want to look at some other RAM.

the only corsair that was BH-5 on newegg is gone now(it was the XMSPC-3500C2PT, the only way you will find BH-5 is to go on Ebay, or get some Mushkin Black LVL II sticks, those still have BH-5, but are getting very scarce.

They are the same. Except the PT has a platinum coloured heatspreader. Is you want bh-6 then get the xmx pc3200ll(pt). Its runs at 2-3-2-6 rather than 2-3-3-6 which the normal c2 stuff does. The ll stuff has pc3500 chips in it. Which i am sure are bh-6.
