Help! Which memory is best

Hello Everyone

I am looking for some memory for my 7N400Pro Nforce2 MB.
I am upgrading the system to a Prometeia MachI and need some good memory...

I currently have 1 GB Samsung 2700 (333) running at 2.5-3-3-11

THanks

Daniel

Mushkin PC-3200 Level II (BH-6), then Kingston HyperX PC3000 (BH-5 probably), then OCZ PC-3200 (CH-5/ProMOS), then PC-2700. In that order. Don't get the PC-2700.

Hello

Thank you. I was not really thinking about getting the 2700 DDR.
That is hat I have now. My board supports up to 400mhz, So i guess the 3200 are good to go, right?

OCZ PC-3200 Platinum LE uses Winbond BH-6 ICs and people have been very happy with the performance of the modules. If you want CL2-2-2 timings @ PC-3200 that would definitely be the RAM I would suggest for you.

Well

Newegg has both OCZ and Mushkin at the same price $147.00 for 512Mb dual packs.. Hmm! Decisions decisions..

Hello Guys

I am testing the new Mushkin (Level II) and so far I have only managed a 221 x 11.5 at 1.725 volts/vcore 5% more/Dimm .1 volts more. Iam doing this with the Mach I and muy AMD 2700+.
Timmings: 2.5-3-3-11 / Forget 2-2-2 it only works at normal booting timmings.

I tried 221 x 12, which it would boot only at 1.800 volts.

I am concerned with 2 things:
- Not over doing the voltage
- Not frying the CPU

What other things should I try?

Thanks

I'm not familiar with what options your board gives you, but you're going to need around 3.0v to get those tight timings with BH-6's. And to get a good overclock, especially considering that you have a Prometeia, I'd use at least 1.9v for your CPU. Neither are overdoing the voltage and most certainly won't hurt any of your hardware.

Hello

Thanks for the info. I am using Preacher's bios and I do not see any Vdimm options other that +.1 or +.2 volts. I have no idea what other options I might have..

Thanks

Daniel

Agreed. My bud who works at PCstats did a review on them and from his findings I grabed a set :D
