I currently have 512mb stick of Corsair XMS PC3200, but it's about a year old. If I buy a new stick, will it work in dual channel mode with the old one? I know the old one has weaker timings, so I'm not sure if they are compatible.

The chances are not that great for the two to work together. It's likely that an old stick of Corsair PC3200 uses Winbond BH-6 chips, while a newer stick will almost definitely use CH-5 chips. The two will not play nicely together.

Would they at least run in single channel mode together? Or not at all?

they would run, there is a small chance that they would run in dual chanel mode, providing you dont overclock them too much

mostly likely ull get errors if u run them on dual mode, they are using different chips, dual chan ram should be exactly identical :D
