Alright so Im running my Celery 633@1007mhz on an Abit BE6-2.
Heres the exact system specs.

Abit BE6-2
Celeron 633@1007 cC0
256mb ram PC-133 Set to Cas-2
15gig Seagate Baraccuda II
ATI Radeon 32 DDR
SB Live-X-Gamer
etc...etc..

This Celeron is not 100% stable. What tweaks can be made to help improve its stability? Setting cas to 3? Please drop a tip. Thx

Try raising the cpu vcore voltage a step.

What are the temps?
maybe u need to lap the HSF, that's if the temps are on the high side
raising voltage helps ALOT too

There's a couple very vital pieces of info missing, that would help us help you a lot easier.

What is your current vcore setting, and what are you using for a hsf??

Obviousely you are using a slocket to run that C633 on the Abit...who makes the slocket you are using, and what model??

Setting the memory from Cas2 to 3 will help somewhat, but I'd like to know a bit more about the other stuff. (ie, if you're running 1.8v with a Gorb, on an Abit !!! slocket, there's a lot that can be done to help get this stable.)

Post some more info....

i found that setting the agp to normal in the bios made my system alot more stable....

Sorry, ya I forgot that info.

The 633@1007mhz is currently at 1.95V and temps are around 35-40 in windows with mp3 playing surfing net.
Cooling is Golden Orb. I DO own an Alpha PEP/66 but it heavy as hell, so I'd rather use the Orb, and socket is made by Abit.

Switch to the Alpha, and you may get better results with a MSI 6905 Master slotket.

I've been reading a lot of posts about those Abit slockets giving people grief.... you really might want to consider a different brand. Most of the posts describe stability problems, and a good size increase in their o/c when they replace it. That MSI mentioned is a good one, as is the Soltek SL02A++. I run this one under my C600...works great, never a problem.

I ran a Gorb on the above mentioned C600/Soltek for a while, and eventually replaced it with an Alpha PEP66T. I dropped quite a bit in the temp dept. (8c), and as a result, gained a slight amount of FSB. Even if you don't GAIN any, it might help you get a bit more stable.

That's a good setting for the vcore....IF you decide to go higher, don't go over 2.0v, 2.05v absolute max.

These tweaks, plus setting the RAM to "3", should more than be enough to get you stable at the Magical Gig.

I'd start with the Alpha, and some Arctic Silver compound, and look for a different slocket.

*update...interesting....I nailed it. Gorb on an Abit !!! slocket. Seems like this is a less than excellent setup....*

got my 633 to thier @ 1.90V.. ram is ta cas 2
i use a a genaric slotket, lets you seto voltage to auto or motherboard
and lets you set FSB auto,66, 100, 133, motherboard
no problems with it at all

I tend to agree with Mr B on the slocket issue. Can the Abit and try an MSI master 6905 or Soltek. I had an Abit with my Celly 600 and couldn't go above 927 at voltages up to 2.1v. Put an MSI in and got to the gig 1009 while dropping the voltage down to 1.9v. I was very pleased.
I would also strongly suggest using that Alpha.
