There's some WSH with my 486 system I've decided to call 486CHOPS. I can't OC it! It's an ST chip, recognised by the board as a Cx486DX2-66-S.

Even with the Celly "486Overkill" HSF it won't run at anything other than 66MHz. It doesn't post if the bus and/or multipler are increased/decreased.

Just wondering if anyone knows about this ST 486 DX2-66 (heatsink required) CPU, and any work-arounds for it.

BTW FYI, mobo is Mitac IH4077D.

Cyrix chips are thought to be already overclocked right out of the box by the company in order to stay competitive with Intel and AMD. Not many people have been able to do much overclocking with them. I actually had to underclock a friend's Cyrix CPU in order for it to run stable.
