View Full Version : Celeron II CPU Stepping Identification

I'm thinking of buying a Celeron II 566 or 600 (I have a BH6 who's life I want to extend until the palominos or the .13 P4s start to show up and do a proper upgrade) and would like to know if anyone knows how to determine an intel processor's stepping from the serial/batch # printed on the chip. Essentially is there some number (like axia or azia in athlons) I should aim for and if so what would it be? I'm aiming for a cCO chip(assuming that this stepping should at least somewhat guarantee an overclock to 850 or 900) and would like to identify it before buying. I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

http://support.intel.com/support/processors/

Go to this link choose the processor type then click on specs and steppings.
Not many online places state what stepping the chip is.
2 I know of thou are www.pcnut.com &
www.atacom.com

With the C-566 and C600, default voltage is listed right on the top of the chip. Default voltage for these two CPUs is 1.5v for the cB0 stepping and 1.7v for the cC0 stepping. That's the easiest way to tell.
