Well, you can call me a lamer, an idiot or a moron, i don't care, i always though that slokets can set a higher fsb than a motherboard supports, i planned on running a celeron 600 at 112 or higher, but then the guys at overclockers.com explained that i'm limited to 100mhz, so now my option are slim, so i was wondering? how did everyone else who had a 440bx mobo run at 100+fsb? also, can someone recommend a cpu either p3 or celeron that i can clock at least to 850-900 so it has to either have a very-high multiplier at 66mhz or a fast stock speed @ 100mhz.

Epox BX2 440BX Chipset (Manual Available Here)
MSI MS-6905 MASTER Slotket
Mushkin 256MB Memory, REV. 2 PC133 CAS 2-2-2

also if anyone has a cpu like this for sale, post a message (cpus from 566-900)

You need a motherboard that you can adjust the fsb over 100mhz is all.
Alot of 440bx motherboards can do this.
Some abit ones can go to 200mhz fsb or so in 1mhz steps.

What is the highest multiplier your mobo has?

see, that's the prob. I don't have enough money for a new mobo, i got this mobo off of ebay for 40 bucks, it was a steal in my opinion. I don't know what the max multiplier is on my mobo

I cant find that info either. One bios upgrade says it fixes a probelm with the multiplier of x9 and 66fsb.

The manual says the following. (pg. 68)
1.Enter bios setup.
2.Choose chipset features setup
3.Use page up or down to select cpu clock freq. as one of 66.8, 68.5, 75, 83.3 , 100, 103, 112 ,133

The main information page here:

http://www.epox.com/html/english/products/motherboard/ep-bx2.htm

Says you can use a p2, p3 or celeron.
You have alot of choices. I dont think I would try a p3 133mhz cpu on this board. I would stick to a 100mhz p3 that does not require split pane cpu voltage.
Celeron would be a good budget cpu.
From the information I can find It should be able to run a cpu at mutilpier x9.

well dude, i might just do that! question: which of these 2 boards are better for overclocking and compatibility in the future?

MSI K7T PRO-2A With VIA KT133 Chipset
MSI K7T Turbo With VIA KT133A Chipset

OH WOW dude, your are tight, i can't belive you found that, that should mean i can pop in a celeron 566 and overclock it to 952? 8.5X112? the cpu i was gonna test was pre-tested and guranteed to run at that speed from overclockedcpus.com, i hope your right dude, if not, it's not a big deal i'll just sell the mobo, sloket and celeron as a package on ebay for like 150 and get a duron setup
