View Full Version : vcore settings at celeron 633
well i habe a celeron 633
on a elitegroup P6bat-a+ meinboard
and a Global win FOP38.
When i want to overlcock my system , i habe to push the vcore up to 2.2 volts to run stable at 790MHZ(83*9.5)..
when i want 100 mhz FSB i must push up tp 2.4 to boot windows .. but i can`t start icq and irc
Could it be that ma mainboard is calculating the volts wrong.
How high can i go?
I'd say your voltage is already too high with just air cooling. In my opinion, running over 2.0v for any length of time is sort of risky. Maybe you need better case cooling and/or a cooler on your northbridge motherboard chip, etc. What kind of thermal paste did you use? Try leaving the case off to see if that helps. Good luck.
you should only need about 1.9v really for a 100mhz fsb, those voltages are just silly and are begging for a dead chip, I don't think you have your heatsink on right if you need those voltages, or you have to much thermal compound on, or your using the crap pink pad, make sure the heatsink is level first and if that doesn't work some Artic Silver will probaballydo the job

Wow! Someone else has a Celly 633 with voltage troubles, eh? Well, my problem was a bit different, but that's hardly the point. My Celly 633 did 100 FSB at default voltage of 1.65v, so you should NOT need 2.0v to do this! I'm actually running pretty well at 101FSB and 1.85v, but I'm trying to burn it in a little. I'm also using a GlobalWin, albeit an FOP-32, and even at 1.85v, it still only runs about 95-100F. Check to make sure your heat sink rests evenly on your die and you are using a good thermal paste - believe me (who is speaking from experience), this makes all the difference in the world!!!!!
