I have P4 2.4, but I'm not sure if it a "C " Is there a way to check what type I have? thanks

google cpuid and download and run it, if it is a C it would have a fsb of 800mhz.

What kind of computer is it, OEM? I had a Gateway that read as having a 150FSB, but really it was a 133FSB. There was a glitch in CPUID with that particular computer.

it a OEM

I think CPUID misreads some boards

DL intels CPU Frequency ID, see what that says

EDIT

Have you tried the intel Frequency ID yet. That is a 2.4B. What kind of computer is it, what manufacturer? I don't know of any OEM computers that allow overclocking.

thank guy's. what the different between 2.4 and 2.4C? Is "C"better for oclocking.

2.4A - 400FSB
2.4B - 533FSB
2.4C - 800FSB and Hyper Threading, and better OC potential

although, you've got pretty good speed out of that 2.4B.

yeah, if it really is overclocked, that is a pretty good OC. My 2.4B will only do 2.72Ghz.

Post this in the proper section. Since this has no relevance to anyone who is not an Intel user, post it in the Intel cpu section.
