Sorry for the new thread

for better or worse a purchased 2 corsair 256 pc3700 sticks

Goal: OC my 2.4c to a 1:1 ratio using this ram dual channel, air cooled

Question: what CAS timmings should i be running also FSB settings and voltage start points

System: P4P800, 2.4c, corsair 2x256 PC3700, 9700 pro, raid 0 raptors, silent pure power 480w, Zalman 7000cu cpu fan.

right now I'm running prime stable at 3.2 with corsair pc3200, just trying to squeeze a little more out of it.

the 2.4c's are fsb beasts. If that badboy runs to 3.4-3.5 (280-290) fsb which they can easily do,that pc 3700 isnt going to be able to touch those speeds 1-1.then you're gonna have to decide to run the memory 5/4 with nasty timings or clock the cpu down to match the memory1-1.

if i were u id test the 2.4 for max speed, (just to make sure how hi it will run) if its clocker like most are (275-290 fsb) then id either get me some cranking pc4000/4500 and run 1-1. or some cranking pc3200 with bh5/6 chips and run it with real tight timings at 5/4. the pc 3700 u bought is good ram but it wasnt designed for tight timings or hi fsb 1-1 . and that is exactly what u need with that clocker u got. otherwise you'll have to end up runnin 5/4 with pretty loose timings which will cost u alot of memory bandwidth compared to the 2-2-2-5 pc3200. or even worse having to cut down on your cpu's potential by a couple hundred meg cause the memory just cant hang in there at 1-1
