Well, the right front speaker of my set of z-680's is pretty quit...no because he's in a bad mood, but because his Audio channel, provided by the amp (attached to the sub) isn't giving him any sound. I Called logitech and they are going to send me a whole new set as soon as i send back the "Control pod" (guess that's the only part that's worth anything, because they don't seem to want the speakers, or sub back). What i'd like to know is, if anyone else has had this problem and found a solution. I'd rather have sound than send it back and wait decade's for my new speakers to arrive. Thanx for any help

Post your story on how well your Rma went....i'd like to know if there good about getting the items back to the customers without delay. Thanx

Try turning the mixer volume way down and the speaker volume up to compensate. Does that help?

no that doesn't help, there's still silience from the east ( hehe). I know it's the channel, and the tech support guy just want' the control pod back.....i thought it was the amp personally. I 've heard of these burning out before, but a burn out would mean no sound at all....right?

did you plug in the jacks all the way? i had the problem... it turned out one of the jacks was really stiff and i had to give it a good shove for it to go in. and are the metal wires contacting metal from the amp?

Ok, i restripped the speaker wire for that channel and even put another speaker on it to test, but still a no go. I decided , since logitech doesn't want the speakers and sub back, to take apart the sub and see if anything was loss or crispy. Well, everything was fine all the wires made contact, all grounds were in place...there wasn't the slightest hint that the amp was the problem...i don't have a multimeter here to test the righ channel leads so i can't be totally sure. Doing another test i put my headphones on and jacked in to the control pod....both the left and right channel's were fine...so i know that it must be the control pods fault ...it's not sending the signal to the sub. I did just recently, before it stopped working, move the control pod around to make room for my new UPS....so i'm thinking when i pull on the control pod to get all the cable i had under my desk out to give me more play, i must have pulled alittle to hard and lossened or disconnected a wire inside. There is a little cooling vent on the back of the z-680 control pod and i can clearly see the cord move around as i give it alittle pull. So i guess i can blame the bad mounting on logitech, and the poor equipment handeling on myself. So all that to say, be careful not to pull on your control pod to hard, the cable's seem weak....many others , from my reading, have had the same problem....lata.

Can you open the control pod and have a gander?

I could, but logitech likes to put this red goop, that basicly tell if the seal was broken on there items. I saw it all over the amp, but i don't care about breaking those seals. If for some reason there is the same thing on the control pod and i destroyed those seals, logitech might tell me they will not take back the "control pod" and send me another set. As intrested as i am as to what happened, i'd rather have my 5.1 sound instead of the 4.1 i have now lol.

Extra info: I just noticed that sometimes the lcd display on the control pod flickers...guess the power is being affected as well.. I thought it might be the current going in to the system, but it's on a ups with "Automatic voltage regulation" so that's can't be...guess i really did pull to hard on that thing lol....it goes back to logitech today anyway..
