How much do you think my Motherboard is holding me back?

I really like my motherboard and can't afford to replace it or really want to but I think that's the only thing holding me back. I can not break 2300mhz will Fail Prime or Blue screen with BurnK7.exe.

I have a Giga-Byte GA-7N400-L and lots of nice toys to go with it. Good CPU Stepping from what I hear and nice Video to fill up that APG slot.

What my real Question is how much more could I push this with an "Abit NF7-S"? Not changing ANYTHING else...

Here is what I have now...

AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2500+(retail)

Thanks,

looking at the "CPU Database" it seems there are a lot more people with the Abits over 2300mhz then people with my board.

I thought maybe it was a better overclocker or something.

I guess I will look into Lapping my NB I already added an Active Copper cooler to it that I lapped, but never lapped the actuall Chip.

Sorry to wast your time. :(

the cooling may be enought but give it some more volt?
and have you checked the volt from the psu? so the 12v, 5v 3,3v is´t low?

I have checked voltage at all points.. PSU and Mosfets. I thought the 5v was low or something on my Motherboard and figured I would check it, well 5.08v on PSU and 5.07v on Mosfets, 3.28v on 3.3v and I think 12v was 11.98v.

CPU and RAM are at Max for this board thats 1.85v on Core and 2.8v on the Dimm.

sound like you have done everything you can do(without modding to much), but the question is if you get something in changing mb...

probably yes, but who much?

9mhz? or alot?

:) thats why I figured I would post here. I see a lot more Abits on the top of that CPU Database then giga-byte.
