I currently have a completely enclosed case and am looking to do a mod and put a window in. I will be relocating my side case fan so that it actually blows air over my video card and sound card like it should be. I have come up with my own design that will put my case fan where it should be(blowing over my video card and sound card). Does anyone have any suggestions before I go through with this?

use a large side fan if you really care about performance, or use a duct. i would suggest getting some clear acrylic tube (see here http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=270805) and using it for the duct, that way it still looks sharp. of course that would make more sense if you were ducting to your cpu, so scratch that.

but use a larger, higher cfm fan. look around in the cooling section to get the names of a few nice quiet ones. the biggest problems with most side window fans i see is that they are 80mm and thus inherently too noisy for their cfm, and some of them are just plain placed poorly.

so carefully consider (and measure) where you want it and make sure you put in a fan that can do the job you want.

good luck, mod on

Bought a new case with side window and top window. Added some cold cathodes and am happy.

I do not have a digital camera. However I do have a cell phone capable of taking pics. Just need to figure out how to e-mail the pics to myself so I can post them for you.
