Okay, my system is a p4 2,8ghz northwood.
Im using the fan i got with it (LMAO)

I decided just for fun to OC it to 3,1 GHZ, Sure the temp went up to 55 degrees celsius. but whatever, my watercooling system will arrive in 4 days.

Loads windows perfectly... BUT my sound is gone. (onboard) C-Media. I try reinstalling the drivers and such. nothing its dead.

So i where like what the f***.

So I reboot, set it to normal 2,8ghz, and then my sound is working properly.

Now im getting confused. So i OC it to 3,0GHZ the sound stop working.

I set it to 2,9 GHZ and now my sound is working.

I gave the CPU core a boost of 2% voltage (still got that at 2,9ghz)

So now my question is, is it because of the heat? or what the hell aint my sound working, if i go over 2,9GHZ?!?!?

check your divider your probably running your pci bus to high and its taking the sound out with it. what fsb were you running your system at ?

all onboard sound i have seen doesn't like high fsb/pci speeds...at even a little over 33mhz pci i have had onboard sound not work...so i just bought a cheap sound card...
