is it an oem sink? If so I'd think about 4500 rpm........Mr B would know for sure tho.......
Hey, welcome to the forums!! You've just joined THE best overclocking site around! Hope we can help you with any questions you might have...
Nope, sorry, don't know this one....you could probably find out at intel's site. I'm sure they would have a spec table for the Denki fans somewhere about.
MY answer (my opinion, really), is "not fast enough"!! the intel OEM fans are good for running at default speed, and not much else, IMHO.
If you intend to overclock a C700, first off, good luck! The C700 has a bit of a reputation for being a bugger to o/c. One of the hardest, from what I've seen and read. Second, don't bother with the intel hsf....get some really good cooling, and heat will never be an issue. I HIGHLY recommend Alpha's line of hsf's, but there are several others that are extremely good as well (GlowalWin, Swiftech, etc...) If you get a GOOD hsf first, you won't HAVE to get a good one later.....
I DO NOT recommend the ThermalTake Golden Orb for moderate to heavy overclocking!! They are pretty, and inexpensive, and EVERYWHERE, but.....there's just not enough metal in the sink to disperse the added heat resulting from raising the vcore and FSB to properly overclock and intel CPU. I replaced the "Gorb" I was using on my Celeron 600, with an Alpha PEP66T, and my CPU temps dropped 8 degrees celcius immediately, no other changes made.
Sorry I can't answer specifically, but I really wouldn't bother with the intel unit, anyways, if you intend to o/c that C700. Use it until you can get a hsf designed with overclocking in mind.
Good luck in your o/c'ing adventures!!
Cheers
Mr B
The retail c600 fan runs between 4000-4500rpms
