P4 2,4c @ 3,2ghz on abit IC7
Thermaltake Spark cooler
Lian li aquarium Case (to lazy to mod :/ )
Idle @50c (abit reads high)
Full load @ 69c (prime95) 100% Stable
It never fails cause of this temps, and since abit's readings being 10c higher than the rest dis must be idle @ 40 and full load @60c, i need to know if you ppl consider theese are SAFE temps for the cpu or may those lead to a SND?
thanks in advance and escuse my bad english

I have an IC7 with an SLK-900 and at load it is reporting 47 degrees. My P4P800 and P4C800 show about 36-39 degrees on air with similar cooling.
Your temps look very high. Try cleaning the cpu/heatsink then reapply the thermal paste.
How hot does your heatsink feel when you touch it?

sounds like you're running a lot of voltage for air. what is it set at? can you drop it down while still being prime stable?

thanks for the responses but:
1) the sink is hot but not as 69c hot, may be about 60c real temp
2) just 1,575 against 1.5v default vcore, so no overvolting as much, but if i go fefault most stable oc is 3,05 or so ghz.
just wondering if this can really damage the cpu in the long run (1 years being really looooooooooooooong as i update frequently and am looking back to the AMD side of things atm), maybe we can have a poll on how high your idle / full load temps are in your everyday use rig. (just a thought)
thanks again and i hope we have more imput in this thread just for the sake of experience sharing

People say abit reads temps 10c higher, i think its more around 4-6c.
Ovaclocker, I think you should reseat your heatsink, your temps are crazy.

Definately reseat your heatsink. There may be like a piece of hair or something small between the CPU and heatsink.

already reseated it, btw i've been running this rig almost for 6 months now, and i know if i take the side panel temps go down 6 to 8c but the damn aquarium is so nice (and was so expensive) that i can't take it off (just for the looks , lol) so what i wanted more was a kind of a poll, and if it can't be done, maybe i'll be my own lab rat and report the survival or dead of my 2,4c in any given time, and with it being RIP, the sale of the lianli case in favor of a thermaltake lanfire one...

Hmm, I pretty new to this OC stuff, but not to temps and the like since I have been into silent computing since 2000 or so. I just got the IC7 and a 2.8. At stock speed its in the 4-50's and @3.2 is 41 idle and prime & cpu stability test its max is 61-2. The heatsink is a SLK947-U with Artic Silver 2 (old from 2001) and a Papst 92mm 3412N72GL@1900/35.9CFM. I'll get some new Artic Silver (whats the best these days?) instead. I'm runnig it at 1.6v but MBM reports from 1.50v to 1.57v. BTW: Sidepanels are off and room is about 18-20.

This works wonders, dremel a hole on your side panel for a silent 120 mm fan. Center the hole so that it covers the NB, RAM and CPU. Temps will drop like no tomorrow.

ok, even ehen my post was more in the search of a poll going on (i'll try that now in another thread) i believe your help deserves me trying to give all the backgroud data needed for you to help me so here goes some more facts:
as of writting this i took the aquarium out and now idle at 45c so i have a bad case airflow case (pun intended hehe) here.
my room temp is (measured atm to) of ~30c (hot summer here)
the prime95 temp atm with case cover off is @ 61c
and the sink temp at load is warm to the touch but not burning hot

edit: wanted to quote on the last post by audiman and quoted the wrong one, sorry
I know but this is my case:
http://www.cooltechzone.com/reviews/cases/lian_li_aquarium_side_panel1.html
so dremeling it is out of cuestion, that's why if the cpu goes RIP i'll change it for a regular windowed / moddable to a sidepanel fan one
thanks again:)

oops, meant to quote audiman and not Schroinx

Sure is hard to dremel through that!
